Another big week is coming to a close as we continue the push for comprehensive clean energy and climate legislation. Our future is at stake in this fight. We have to make sure that the end of a major event doesn’t mean the end of our engagement. No generation will be affected more by climate change than today’s youth. No generation needs the jobs more or represents the U.S. in the military and against oil-funded opposition than today’s youth.
We need clean energy and we have to fight for it everyday.
Lot’s of good stuff out there today:
- The Earth Day Revolution kicked off on the West Lawn of the capitol building yesterday. An op-ed in the Huffington Post from Rep. Ed Markey. America’s economic recovery can be tied to clean energy jobs.
- Thousands of scientists are sending a letter to Congress, calling for action on climate change.
- Japan’s cabinet is endorsing a cap-and-trade proposal aimed at cutting the country’s carbon pollution.
- The debate over cap-and-trade has given rise to many other proposals, despite some of the criticism it has gotten. Will it eventually be what brings everything together?
