Michigan State held off a late Wolverine comeback on Saturday for a 26-20 overtime win in the annual gridiron rivalry. But the Spartans were not the only green team victorious in East Lansing.
A youth lead team ran a mobile email unit outside the stadium. They got a great response from students and fans, and successfully generated 388 emails to Senators Stabenow and Levin. More details and a video below the fold.
The team lead by Clean Water Action and Repower set up a tent and four voting booths, each with a netbook pointed to a Progress Michigan action page. Clean Water also was circulating canvassers to collect handwritten letters to the senators. A giant green jobs banner and free cider and donuts for those taking action drew the crowds. An appearance by MSU dance team Motion to write emails and letters didn’t hurt either.
